Summary

Join Vanta as our Compensation Manager and provide critical analytical and operational support to our Director of Compensation, ensuring smooth compensation processes and building a scalable foundation for the future. Partner with Finance and People Business Partners to align compensation decisions with budgetary planning and workforce strategy. Manage key systems like Carta and Pave, and build equity burn models. Conduct compensation data analysis and modeling to support decisions and changes to our programs. Over time, this role will also involve people analytics, building dashboards, and delivering workforce insights. This role reports to Vanta’s Director of Compensation and requires 4+ years of experience in compensation, people analytics, or a related field.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in compensation, people analytics, or a related field
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with experience building, maintaining, and simplifying compensation and equity models
  • Familiarity with compensation survey data (e.g., Radford, Pave) and job leveling frameworks
  • Experience using and managing compensation and equity platforms, particularly Carta and Pave
  • Strong attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset, with a focus on designing systems that scale
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex data insights clearly to stakeholders
  • Comfort working with confidential data and handling sensitive issues with discretion

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Director of Compensation to execute and scale Vanta’s compensation processes, including salary and equity reviews, job benchmarking, and compensation band updates
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance on budgeting, headcount planning, and equity pool management, and with People Business Partners on compensation decisions for hiring, promotions, and internal mobility
  • Build and maintain equity burn models to forecast and monitor dilution and total cost of ownership as the company grows
  • Manage and optimize our compensation and equity systems, including Pave and Carta, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and scalability
  • Conduct compensation data analysis and modeling to support decisions during compensation cycles and changes to our programs, with a focus on sustainable growth
  • Own and improve daily compensation operations—such as new hire offers and internal transfers—with a view toward automating and standardizing them to support a larger, global team over time
  • Support the evolution of our compensation infrastructure by helping to implement new tools, workflows, and reporting capabilities that grow with the business
  • Build dashboards and reports that support people analytics use cases and deliver insights across the People team and business, laying the groundwork for a scalable analytics function
  • Support compensation-related audits and compliance initiatives, helping ensure our compensation practices remain both competitive and consistent as we expand

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization tools, dashboard platforms or basic SQL (e.g., Looker, Tableau, or Google Data Studio)
  • Prior experience in high-growth or pre-IPO environments is helpful, especially where compensation infrastructure needed to scale rapidly
