Summary
Join Trupanion as an experienced compliance professional to contribute to the growth of our pet medical insurance company. As an integral member of the Legal & Regulatory team, you will maintain our insurance company portfolio, provide corporate governance support, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role involves coordinating compliance procedures, supporting regulatory attorneys, assisting with legal projects, and working with state and provincial authorities. Requirements
- Experience in regulatory compliance and/or governance for an insurance company OR two to three years of law firm or in-house paralegal experience working on general corporate and/or regulatory compliance matters
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality in a very open and transparent environment
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with other members of the Legal & Regulatory team to develop and implement corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures for Trupanion insurance companies and other affiliated entities
- Support our regulatory attorneys with renewal business and insurance licenses for our newly formed insurance companies
- Assist the Legal & Regulatory team with other legal projects as required, including contract review, securities filings, regulatory change management, and more
- Work with various state and provincial authorities to ensure Trupanion entities remain in compliance with applicable corporate and regulatory requirements, including overseeing filing of statutory and regulatory filings
- Manage and ensure timely and accurate completion of annual corporate registrations, assumed name filings, business and insurance licenses and similar corporate record requirements in the U.S. and Canada
- Assist with articles of incorporation, board resolutions, stock certificates and other subsidiary governance materials
- Occasionally serve as stock plan administration and internal trade compliance back-up support
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorβs Degree
- Experience working with insurance regulators
- Knowledge of U.S. and/or Canadian business and/or insurance laws
