Compliance Officer

Summary

The job involves leading compliance efforts, supporting the sales team, guiding development teams, facilitating certification processes, conducting security audits, and collaborating with IT and cybersecurity teams. The ideal candidate has experience as a Compliance Officer or similar role in the software industry, particularly within healthcare or government sectors, and possesses strong understanding of compliance laws and regulations related to HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, SOC-II.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Compliance Officer, Security Analyst, or similar role in the software industry
• Strong understanding of compliance laws and regulations related to HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, SOC-II
• Experience with secure software development lifecycle practices
• Ability to work collaboratively across various departments to foster a compliance and security-focused culture
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance efforts to ensure adherence to HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, SOC-II, and other relevant regulations
• Support the sales team by contributing to RFP responses, highlighting our compliance and security measures
• Guide and train development teams in implementing best practices for secure coding and development
• Facilitate the process of obtaining and maintaining certifications for various regulatory standards
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with legal and corporate policies
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to strategize and enhance security protocols

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable
