Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field
- 6-8 years' proven experience in a compliance officer role
- Good knowledge of legal requirements and controls
- Experience as a Compliance Officer/Compliance management role in the financial services industry, preferably within a Payment Institution
- Knowledge of Brazilian Central Bank regulations and global compliance requirements for Payment Institutions
- Experience in risk management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Be hands-on and have the ability to adapt
- Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
- Integrity and professional ethics
- Professional Compliance certification
- Fluent in English and in Portuguese
Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing and managing an organization's compliance program to ensure the organization operates in accordance with the federal laws and applicable regulation
- Prepare policies for identification and knowledge of the Client (KYC)
- Verify that the company complies with the information and documentation requirements of the authorities
- Verify that the company complies with the orders of securing or unblocking of accounts or resources related to any AML/TF matters
- Define the criteria, measures and procedures to be adopted in order to comply with the regulations
- Develop and review company policies
- Coordinating with regulators audits and requirements
- Planning, implementing and overseeing risk-related programs
- Regular audits to identify possible weaknesses or risks
- Creating and coordinating proper reporting channels for compliance issues
- Developing company compliance communications
- Coordinating and scheduling required compliance training for employees
- Implement and manage an effective compliance program
- Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries
- Resolve employee concerns about compliance
- Determine compliance metrics and tracking them
- Revise, provide insightful inputs and sign off on new financial products to ensure it is compliance with local regulation
- Remain up to date on laws related to the organization, inform the impacted teams to react accordingly and update policies accordingly
- Perform compliance audits to determine whether establish protocols are being followed and where they can be improved
- Maintain up to date written documentation and policies related to the organization's business activities
- Resolve compliance staff members questions
- Analysis of digital assets transfers from a compliance and AML/CTF perspective
- Monitoring activities of customers transactions
- Coordinate the follow-up activities of Operations and the investigations to be carried out at the institutional level
- Verify that the corresponding alerts have been analyzed and the respective investigations have been analyzed and documented, which shall be recorded in files or records
- Participating reviews of key clients and support for key projects
- Inform the Committee regarding acts or omissions made by the directors, officers, employees
- Inform the Committee of the execution of Transactions whose characteristics may generate a high risk
- Support in the creation and sending of the AML reports
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings as required
- Design solutions that both fulfil our business needs and comply with applicable compliance requirements
- Responsible for compliance of STA and Simba (Jud)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in crypto industry
- Additional AML certification
- Good understanding of the blockchain technology
- Spanish is a plus
