You will play a key role in enhancing and scaling our compliance testing program by developing testing methodologies, refining operating procedures, and improving documentation. This involves assessing regulatory applicability, designing and executing both manual and automated compliance tests, and communicating findings to stakeholders. You will become a subject matter expert on Mercury's operations and compliance obligations, contributing to a strong compliance and risk management framework. Requirements
- Strong background in manual/automated testing, control validation, and regulatory assessments
- Ability to interpret regulations, assess applicability, evaluate risk exposure, and translate requirements into effective testing strategies
- Familiarity with designing compliance tests using data analytics and identifying automation opportunities
- Ability to refine methodologies, streamline workflows, and elevate documentation standards
- Ability to clearly and confidently convey compliance testing results, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to draft well-structured, compelling reports and lead discussions with stakeholdersโfrom process walkthroughs to issue identification and agreement
Responsibilities
- Enhance and refine testing frameworks to align with regulatory expectations and industry best practices
- Improve existing procedures and documentation to enhance clarity, consistency, and scalability
- Partner with Compliance to evaluate regulatory applicability and risk exposure across products and services, using these insights to shape the Assurance testing schedule and prioritize testing in alignment with business needs
- Utilize data analytics to design tests, identify trends, and enhance overall compliance coverage
- Identify opportunities for automation within compliance testing, partnering with engineering and operations teams to drive efficiencies
- Design and perform compliance testing through both manual and automated techniques, including reviewing and investigating potential exceptions identified through automated testing to identify patterns and root causes
- Deliver clear, concise, and actionable reports, translating complex compliance issues into business-relevant insights
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated environments
- Ability to quickly grasp and understand complex business processes
