Summary

Join VetsEZ as a remote Configuration/Release Manager supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
  • 8+ years of experience is required
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and configuration management principles
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Jenkins)
  • Experience with build and release management tools and processes in Agile and DevOps environments and familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams to achieve common goals

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement configuration management strategies for software solutions, including version control, baseline management, and change control
  • Maintain and manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) or equivalent tools to track software configurations and dependencies
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to define and document software build, deployment, and release processes
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of automated configuration management tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
  • Ensure proper versioning, documentation, and tracking of all software artifacts, including source code, libraries, and dependencies
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to validate and approve configuration changes and software releases
  • Train team members and stakeholders on configuration management tools and best practices
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies
  • The following certifications: AWS certification, Azure certification, etc
  • Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder and DevSecOps environment
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance
