Summary

The job is a 4-month paid internship in the Fall of 2024 for a Mechanical Engineering student entering their junior or senior year at Ecosystem's Washington office. The intern will collaborate with construction engineers, coordinate with subcontractors, help manage schedules, take readings and measurements of HVAC systems, participate in meetings, ensure compliance with best practices and regulations, and be safety-oriented.

Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering student entering their junior or senior year
  • Interest in building mechanics and energy performance
  • Resourceful, organized, autonomous, great communication skills and safety-oriented
  • Able to travel to and work on-site daily and as needed

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Construction Engineers during the implementation of energy performance measures
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and help supervise the work site
  • Help prepare work plan and manage the schedule
  • Take readings and measurements of HVAC systems
  • Participate in meetings, as required, with the client, subcontractors, and internal resources to resolve issues and ensure smooth project implementation
  • Ensure compliance with best practices and health and safety on construction sites
  • Assess compliance with design, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations
