Summary

Join Avalere Health as a Consultant II in our Evidence & Strategy practice. You will manage and conduct real-world evidence (RWE) and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) studies. Responsibilities include developing study materials, collaborating with cross-functional teams, drafting recommendations, and managing multiple projects. You will need a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3-6 years of experience in HEOR, RWE, or related areas. A Master's degree and consulting experience are preferred. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health economics, epidemiology, public health, sciences, business, economics or related fields required
  • Ability to manage, design, and execute HEOR and RWE studies that are suitable for peer-review and publishing in academic journals; analyze and synthesize research, regulations, health policy, and clinical and other scientific literature; synthesize findings into actionable insights relevant to the client, and convey results to clients and staff in written and verbal formats
  • Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to executives within and outside of the firm
  • Experience in HEOR, RWE, and/or epidemiological research, including formulating research questions, designing data analysis plans, and executing studies
  • 3-6 years’ work experience with prior consulting experience or other relevant work experience, which could include employment by a healthcare provider organization, pharmaceutical or health insurance company, digital health company, healthcare consultancy, public opinion research organization or healthcare-focused research organization

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a skilled project manager for HEOR and RWE research studies and healthcare strategy engagements—from start to finish—a broad range of client projects involving diverse, cross-functional, cross-practice teams
  • Develops study materials including study protocols, statistical analysis plans, technical reports, survey instruments, manuscripts, scientific abstracts, poster presentations, table shells, and summary slide decks, with oversight from senior-level colleagues
  • Contributes subject matter expertise on key issues and methods associated with defining and measuring patient-centric value, as well as the design and execution of HEOR/RWE research studies
  • Collaborates effectively with teams within the Evidence & Strategy practice and across the firm to solve complex client problems and engage clients with novel solutions and ideas
  • Draft both strategic and tactical recommendations for clients depending on their business needs
  • Manage multiple clients and projects/studies and short- and long-term deliverables to ensure that Avalere’s knowledge and expertise are available to meet client needs
  • Solve complex client issues in a timely and appropriate manner with minimal management oversight and attention to resources
  • Train, supervise, and mentor staff members within the practice and across the firm

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, health economics, public policy , data analytics, healthcare management, business administration or relevant discipline preferred
  • Strong ability to manage complex projects and teams to consistently deliver high-quality work
  • 1-3 years of managing the day-to-day of multiple HEOR/RWE studies and projects preferred
  • Experience in another type of organization thinking critically about or working on behalf of the healthcare industry is an appropriate substitute for direct industry experience
  • Experience should be focused on HEOR, RWE, value, patient journey, epidemiology, or health policy, ideally involving evaluation of pharmaceuticals or from a pharmaceutical manufacturer’s perspective
