Summary

Join IXL Learning, a leading EdTech company, as a Content Proofreader! This is a 3-month, remote, 1099 consulting role with potential for extension. You will proofread web content for accuracy, ensuring spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency. Responsibilities include inputting learning standards into spreadsheets and comparing website text with PDFs for accuracy. The ideal candidate possesses excellent attention to detail and prior proofreading/editing experience. Proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel is required. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality educational content and work independently, meeting weekly deadlines.

Requirements

• Excellent attention to detail is required; prior proofreading/editing experience is preferred
• Must be proficient with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
• Availability for up to 10 hours per week; possibly more depending on projects
• Ability to work independently, meeting weekly deadlines
• Passion for improving education through technology

Responsibilities

• Proofread educational content for accuracy, spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency
• Input text from standards documents into in-house spreadsheets to support standards alignment projects
• Use your sharp eye for detail to compare website text and PDFs side by side to ensure accuracy
• Rapidly implement edits to ensure our content is of the highest quality

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of HTML formatting is a plus
