Content Writer, Software Engineering, Remote - Worldwide

Summary

The job is for a Content Writer with expertise in Software Engineering to develop engaging learning materials for Flatiron School's Software Engineering program. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or equivalent work experience, proficiency in Google Workspace, React frontend, Flask backend, Python, JavaScript, and strong writing skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering (or a related field) or 2-5 years of work experience in Software Engineering (or a related field)
• Full-stack experience (with emphasis on backend) + ability to make a full-stack app is a must
• Proven experience in content creation, writing, or educational material development, preferably in the fields of Software Engineering and/or online education
• Strong understanding of Software Engineering concepts, practices, and industry standards
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in an accessible and engaging manner
• Blog writing experience on Software Engineering topics a plus
• Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with others to develop high-quality educational content
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage frequently shifting priorities is a must
• Commitment to creating inclusive and student-centered learning materials

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive and engaging learning materials for our Software Engineering program
• Collaborate with instructional designers and other SMEs to ensure content accuracy and relevance
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in Software Engineering
• Tailor content to different learning styles, ensuring it is accessible and engaging for a diverse student body
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of course materials, incorporating feedback from students and faculty
• Participate in curriculum development meetings and contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the Software Engineering program

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience utilizing CodeGrade
• Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) experience is a plus
• Jira experience is a plus

Benefits

Expected compensation: $90K-$110K
