Requirements

  • CPA certification is required
  • Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role, preferably within a startup environment
  • Strong experience in closing books and managing financial statements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team effectively
  • Proficiency in using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Manage and lead the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial activities
  • Prepare and close monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with company goals and objectives
  • Manage external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Utilize Sage Intacct for financial reporting and analysis
  • Support fundraising activities and investor relations by providing accurate financial information and analysis
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the healthcare sector; experience in mental health care delivery is a plus
  • Preference for candidates based in the Midwest (Madison, Minneapolis, Chicago)
