Requirements
- CPA certification is required
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role, preferably within a startup environment
- Strong experience in closing books and managing financial statements
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team effectively
- Proficiency in using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Manage and lead the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial activities
- Prepare and close monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with company goals and objectives
- Manage external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Utilize Sage Intacct for financial reporting and analysis
- Support fundraising activities and investor relations by providing accurate financial information and analysis
- Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the healthcare sector; experience in mental health care delivery is a plus
- Preference for candidates based in the Midwest (Madison, Minneapolis, Chicago)
