Corporate Accounting Supervisor

Summary

Join Velocity Global as a Regional Corporate Accounting Supervisor and lead the monthly close process for specific entities within the LATAM and Canada regions. This remote position, based in Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, or Argentina, requires managing a broad range of corporate accounting responsibilities. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The role involves overseeing daily operations, reviewing accounts payable and receivable, and collaborating on process improvements. You will also support the Finance Director with various tasks and participate in internal/external audits. Success in this role requires strong accounting expertise and experience working with global teams.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Finance/Accounting or certified public accountant required
• 8+ years of accounting/finance experience required
• Work with a wider global team and across different time zones
• Business proficiency in English required
• Experience in local statutory accounting reporting in other countries such as Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica or Colombia required
• Experience in foreign currency transactions, and understanding of IFRS or US GAAP required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite experience required
• Display appropriate ethical knowledge through extraordinary integrity and professional conduct

Responsibilities

• Help with the local month-end close processes and maintenance of general ledgers
• Ensure accurate monthly financial reporting deliverables
• Ensure accurate monthly accounting reconciliations between local books and Velocity Global's books
• Analyze accounting data to produce financial insights
• Oversight and support of daily corporate accounting operations within the LATAM and Canada region
• Review and maintenance of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company procedures, and regulations
• Identify and assist with process improvements projects across the Americas Region
• Help with special projects based on the needs of the corporate accounting department
• Support the Finance Director with preparing/reviewing journals, variance analysis and other Adhoc tasks as requested by Global Corporate Accounting
• Oversee NetSuite projects, account clean-up, and system enhancements
• Collaborate with IT and RFT on process improvements and system optimizations
• Support Internal/External audits
