Summary

Join Level Access as their Corporate Counsel and play a key role in driving efficient deal flow, mitigating legal and business risks, and ensuring compliance with digital accessibility laws. You will proactively identify and address legal risks, provide strategic counsel across various business functions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong legal expertise, a practical business understanding, and the ability to negotiate contracts and streamline processes. This role requires a Juris Doctorate, active bar membership, and significant experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably with a SaaS focus. You will be responsible for contract management, risk mitigation, and conducting legal research on digital accessibility.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a corporate or commercial attorney, preferably with a focus on SaaS, privacy, or security law
  • Experience in the corporate department of a law firm or within an in-house legal department
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, streamline deal flow processes, mitigate risk
  • Demonstrated research, analytical and writing skills
  • Exhibit a proactive approach, take initiative, and show a strong dedication to professional development
  • Be a collaborative team member with a positive outlook, keen discernment, and discretion in complex legal scenarios
  • Possess strong discernment with the ability to align legal strategies to organizational objectives and financial outcomes

  • Be experienced in researching and analyzing legal issues holistically, drafting detailed risk assessment memos, and providing clear recommendations
  • Possess strong interpersonal and project management skills, ensuring efficient management of multiple priorities
  • Be highly adaptable, diligent, and capable of anticipating and addressing emerging risks

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate smooth deal flow by redlining, drafting, and negotiating a variety of SaaS commercial agreements and vendor contracts
  • Represent the company with executive presence during customer calls and negotiations, offering strategic legal advice to drive successful outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline contracting processes, including assisting in creating CLM workflows
  • Provide legal support throughout the deal lifecycle
  • Evaluate contracts and business decisions holistically, considering legal, operational, and reputational risks
  • Address and resolve substantive issues in contracts when redlines necessitate significant revisions, ensuring agreements align with business goals and mitigate legal risks
  • Supervise the development of a unified set of contracts and corresponding playbook by partnering with providers, ensuring the consolidation of templates aligns with business and legal priorities
  • Proactively supervise legal and industry developments to identify and address potential risks in the company’s operations
  • Draft comprehensive risk assessment memos with actionable recommendations for the leadership team
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to resolve risks
  • Assist in shaping corporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with evolving legal and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct in-depth research on U.S. digital accessibility statutes and case law to advise the company’s strategies and compliance efforts
  • Support the company’s thought leadership by developing insights and legal analyses that position the company as a leader in U.S. digital accessibility
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to demonstrate the value of research findings in client interactions and educational materials
