Creative Lead, Copy Marketing & UX

Summary
Join Airbnb.org as a Writing Leader to develop and oversee content strategy and copy across the Airbnb.org experience. Collaborate with designers, marketers, product managers, and engineers to ideate and execute brand marketing campaigns and product marketing. Work with cross-functional teams, including UX design, product, marketing, operations, emergency response, fundraising, and legal, as well as external agencies. Effectively communicate with team members and partners, strategically multi-task, and proactively solve problems while meeting deadlines. Make confident and strategic decisions to support the product vision. The ideal candidate has a portfolio showcasing success in building marketplace or social impact products.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, copywriting and/or content strategy
- Outstanding portfolio demonstrating best-in-class content strategy and writing
- Deep understanding of marketing copywriting from both a brand and product marketing lens
- Deep understanding of user experience design principles and interaction patterns
- Ability to think both strategically and operate tactically, concept through execution
- Ability to translate consumer insights, data, and strategy to creative writing solutions
- Experience developing messaging frameworks, content guidelines, and style guides
- Experience collaborating closely with Design, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Creative teams
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills—you can effectively communicate and defend writing recommendations and content decisions
- Empathy for hosts, guests, and donors, and empathy for individuals on your cross-functional team
- Experience working in Figma, our primary collaboration tool
- Passion for Airbnb.org’s mission and purpose

Responsibilities
- Develop messaging frameworks, content patterns, and language to best serve both brand marketing initiatives and the user experience
- Ability to write clear, compelling copy for various mediums (e.g. website, email, video, ads, etc.)
- Help evolve and innovate our content strategy and represent the voice and tone of the Airbnb.org brand across all products and experiences
- Ability to take stories and bring them to life for hosts, guests, partners and donors
- Present copy and design work to peers, executives, and other project stakeholders
- Partner with critical cross-functional partners—accessibility, anti-discrimination, legal, localization—to integrate their input into the writing recommendations
- Ensure quality copy production and effective communication with teammates and any outside partners
- Build a network of external writers, both marketing and UX writers, that can deliver content within tight deadlines and our brand guidelines
