Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on experience in underwriting or credit analysis; preferably 2-3 years within the industry
• A Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline

Responsibilities

• Perform cursory analysis of financial documents to evaluate the creditworthiness of commercial loan applicants
• Learn to assess the financial health of businesses by analyzing key financial metrics, such as liquidity, profitability, and leverage
• Analyze personal and business credit reports to identify credit risks associated with commercial loan applicants
• Prepare a brief statement based on established criteria and policies summarizing underwriting recommendations for commercial loan decisions
• Collaborate with colleagues to communicate underwriting decisions to loan applicants and address inquiries or provide information
• Assess the impact of the guarantor on the company’s ability to service debt
