This role is ideal for recent graduates interested in qualitative and quantitative research and polling. The internship is for 40 hours a week for 6 months. The position is preferably located in Washington, D.C., but remote work is also possible.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, Political Science/Government, Public Policy, Economics, or related field
- Previous internship experience at an agency, publicly traded company, media outlet, or in politics or government
- Experience conducting research and performing financial or economic analysis, writing and distilling complex ideas and concepts into a digestible format
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
- Problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks
- Ability to commit to internship for 40 hours a week for 6 months
Responsibilities
- Assisting in overseeing projects
- Setting up client reports (creating slides, tables, graphs, etc.)
- Proofing and entering data into reports
- Proofing client report
- Checking programmed surveys
- Checking data (tabs/crosstabs) for accuracy
- Work with vendor portals to set up banner points and download data
- Downloading transcripts (using a transcript app), editing transcripts, and pulling quotes for reports
- Assisting in day-to-day administrative tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with business, economics, politics, and the legislative process; expertise and interest in a specific policy field is a plus
