Summary

Join Khan Academy's growing team as a Data Analyst and enable data-driven decisions for our Districts team. You will leverage strong analytical skills and a passion for clean data to deliver impactful reports and insights. This role focuses on business intelligence, custom reporting & analytics, and data management. You will design and maintain dashboards, provide actionable recommendations, and collaborate with stakeholders. Data accuracy, completeness, and security are key responsibilities. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, preferably in edtech or B2B, with proficiency in SQL and experience with BI tools like Looker.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, preferably in an edtech or B2B environment
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets
  • Expertise with using and creating data models for business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker)
  • Familiarity with data management tools and practices (e.g., ETL processes, data validation)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights from data
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating technical data into actionable insights
  • Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain accurate dashboards and reports to monitor key metrics in our BI tool, Looker
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to drive performance improvements
  • Partner with stakeholders to deeply understand the qualitative aspects of the data, measure KPIs and ensure alignment on goals
  • Work with our district stakeholders (internal and external) to understand unique data needs and deliver tailored reports that are built on our existing reporting
  • Build ad hoc queries and custom reporting to address specific questions and challenges for the internal District team
  • Translate complex data sets into clear, digestible presentations for non-technical audiences
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and security through rigorous processes and controls
  • Collaborate with relevant operations & engineering teams to improve data reliability and accuracy
  • Adhere to data governance policies to enhance data quality and consistency
