Join Newsweek's growing team in India as a Data Analyst! You will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing diverse datasets to support the city ranking methodology, ensuring data quality and consistency. Key responsibilities include designing data structures, collecting and transforming datasets, filtering and sorting data, writing code for data transformation, supporting research and expert panel analysis, ensuring data quality, preparing data for reporting, and documenting data processes. You will collaborate with researchers, project managers, and editorial teams. This role requires strong analytical skills, SQL proficiency, data science coding experience (R or Python), and excellent communication skills. The ability to work remotely is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Support the creation of the rankings database, including design of data structures and the master data management approach
- Collect, load, transform, and analyze datasets (economic, environmental, survey, etc.)
- Filter and sort data to support the ranking process
- Write code to transform data within the rankings data architecture
- Support desk research and expert panel analysis with quantitative insights
- Ensure data quality and consistency across all geographies and sources
- Prepare data for editorial and reporting outputs, including visualizations and tables
- Document data processes and methodologies for transparency and reproducibility
- Cleaned and analyzed datasets ready for ranking
- Ranking tables and relevant code
- Technical documentation of data processes and methodologies
- Works closely with the Researcher and wider R&R team to validate data and incorporate qualitative insights
- Supports the Project Manager with data-driven updates and risk identification
- Collaborates with editorial teams to ensure data is presented accurately
