Summary
Join our team as a Data Governance Analyst and guide organizations in designing and implementing robust data governance frameworks. As a trusted advisor, you will provide expertise in data governance, compliance, and data quality. You will collaborate with clients to ensure data assets are effectively managed and secure. This role involves strategy and framework development, client advisory and stakeholder engagement, data quality and compliance management, metadata and cataloging, tool implementation and technology enablement, training and change management, and performance measurement and reporting. The position is a full-time contract (short-term or long-term) and is remote, based in BR/LATAM. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in data governance are required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related consulting role
- Proven track record of implementing data governance frameworks for organizations across industries
- Deep knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM), and best practices
- Expertise in compliance regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and industry-specific standards
- Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a consultative approach
- Bachelorβs degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Assess clients' current data governance maturity and recommend tailored strategies for improvement
- Design and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and processes to meet business and compliance needs
- Work closely with clients to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability structures
- Facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders to align governance initiatives with business goals
- Define data quality standards and metrics, and establish monitoring processes for clients
- Advise on compliance with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, ensuring risk mitigation strategies are in place
- Guide clients in implementing metadata management practices and tools to maintain a comprehensive data inventory
- Ensure proper tagging, lineage tracking, and documentation of data assets
- Recommend and deploy data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) tailored to client needs
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate governance tools with clients' existing data architectures
- Develop and deliver training programs to upskill client teams on data governance principles, tools, and practices
- Support change management efforts to embed governance into organizational culture
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of governance initiatives
- Deliver insights and progress reports to clients, highlighting achievements and opportunities for further optimization
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CDMP, DAMA, or Collibra Ranger
- Experience in designing data governance programs for large enterprises
- Hands-on experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau)
