Summary

Join Carbon6, a part of SPS Commerce, as a Data Operations Manager to lead and ensure reliable, accurate, and scalable data flows across real-time and batch processes. You will manage a team of Data Operations Analysts, contributing to troubleshooting, improvements, and project delivery. Responsibilities include monitoring data integration health, maintaining data integrity, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of operational excellence. The role requires advanced SQL proficiency, experience with business systems integration, and Salesforce CRM fluency. Leadership and problem-solving skills are essential, along with strong communication abilities. The position offers the flexibility of remote or hybrid work within the Eastern Time Zone.

Requirements

  • SQL Expertise: Advanced proficiency writing, reviewing, and optimizing SQL queries; ability to independently reverse-engineer complex codebases
  • Integration Builder: Deep experience with business systems integration projects and health monitoring
  • Salesforce CRM Fluency: Demonstrated ability to dive into Salesforce integrations, feature development, and complex data models with minimal ramp-up time
  • Leadership & Coaching: Proven experience managing or leading small technical or operational teams with a focus on setting priorities, coaching growth, and delivering results
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to critically assess, troubleshoot, and continuously improve operational data flows mindful of system-wide implications
  • Operational Mindset: Committed to enforcing SLAs, maintaining data quality, and building sustainable, scalable processes
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to translate business context into operational tasks, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Data Flow Reliability & Monitoring: Own and evolve the standards and systems used to monitor the health of real-time and batch data integrations, with SLA-driven accountability. Lead incident management practices, including issue detection, triage, communication, and resolution
  • Data Integrity Operations: Operate and refine SQL-driven integrity monitoring systems to proactively detect anomalies, operational exceptions, and edge cases – with a particular emphasis on Salesforce CRM data flows. Define and enforce standards for timely root-cause resolution
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Scope, prioritize, and drive multi-person continuous improvement initiatives β€” coordinating execution across teams and stakeholders. Balance small quick-win optimizations with larger, strategic operational enhancements
  • Team Management & Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Data Operations Analysts, setting expectations, coordinating day-to-day execution, and driving continuous skill development. Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and proactive problem-solving
  • Hands-on Technical Contribution: Remain actively involved in hands-on technical work when needed, including SQL development, troubleshooting integration failures, and reverse-engineering system processes
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Requirement Gathering: Rapidly distill new business needs into actionable operational tasks, managing work across both immediate (9-1-1 critical) issues and structured quarterly roadmaps. Maintain strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring operational processes meet evolving business needs
  • Documentation & Operational Playbooks: Embed documentation into daily work β€” ensuring processes, monitoring standards, and resolution workflows are fully captured at the time of deployment. Maintain high standards of clarity, completeness, and auditability in all operational documentation; "document later" is not an acceptable practice in this role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with integration platforms (e.g., Celigo, Workato, Boomi, Zapier)
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift)
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems

Benefits

Open to Remote or Hybrid. Note: Must Work in Eastern Time Zone Hours
