Summary
Join our team as a Data Scientist and play a key role in enhancing our property valuation models. Partner with the Head of Engineering to improve the accuracy and scalability of our algorithms, supporting platform growth and providing smarter insights to users. You will be responsible for model development and optimization, data management and analysis, and research and innovation. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and at least two years of data science or machine learning experience. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with various technologies and a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
- At least 2 years of data science or machine learning roles
- Deep expertise in Python and relevant libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, matplotlib)
- Experience with machine learning algorithms, particularly regression models and ensemble methods
- Proficiency in SQL and database management
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps Tools and practices to deploy resources
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder updates
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
- Detail-oriented with strong quality assurance mindset
- Comfortable working across time zones with UK-based team
Responsibilities
- Model Development & Optimization
- Take ownership of our existing UK residential property AVM and drive continuous improvements
- Conduct feature engineering using property characteristics, location data, market trends, and economic indicators
- Perform model validation, back testing, and performance monitoring
- Research and integrate new data sources to enhance model accuracy
- Data Management & Analysis
- Clean, process, and analyze large datasets of UK property transactions and market data
- Develop automated data pipelines for model training and inference
- Monitor data quality and implement data validation procedures
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify new modelling opportunities
- Research & Innovation
- Stay current with industry trends in property valuation and real estate analytics
- Research emerging machine learning techniques applicable to property valuation
- Evaluate and implement new modelling approaches and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in financial modelling, real estate data, property valuation, or related financial modelling
- Knowledge of the Kalman Filter
- Familiarity in geospatial data and mapping technologies
