Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience leading data teams (Data Operations, Data Governance, or Data Strategy)
- 6-8+ years of experience working in data operations, engineering, stewardship, governance, or strategy
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative data field or equivalent (Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, etc.)
- Experience in external data source integration strategy, evaluating data providers and integrating with data vendors
- Proven experience with data governance and data catalog frameworks and implementing scalable data stewardship processes and best practices for the enterprise
- Exceptional organizational, stakeholder communication and excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functional teams and manage dependencies
- Strategic mindset with a strong focus on solving problems and delivering business value in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of third-party data integration, data management, and compliance for Data Products and AI/ML use cases for financial services
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a roadmap for the Data Operations stack that leverages data from across the entire organization
- Provide recommendations and insights to senior leadership to shape data strategies
- Establish, setup, and manage the data harmonization rules and procedures
- Act as a steward for data quality and integrity, establishing and monitoring data health and quality metrics to uphold high standards
- Implement processes for scalable and reliable data operations including proactively addressing data anomalies, data mapping issues, and trends through strategic interventions
- Partner with Product and Engineering Leadership to help design, implement, and manage a robust data governance framework to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Partner with Product to drive roadmap for external third-party data ingestion and implementation to enrich internal data assets
- Partner with the Data Engineering and AI/ML teams to align data workflows with business objectives and model requirements
- Support the development of scalable pipelines within the Lakehouse architecture to serve diverse use cases
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive data catalogs for improved data discoverability
- Ensure metadata and data lineage documentation supports both compliance and AI/ML operational needs
- Drive initiatives to ensure data usage aligns with compliance standards and ethical AI guidelines
- Keep current on technological advances, capabilities of new products, and industry trends within the Data Operations field
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture, Databricks and Medallion data design is preferred
- Experience with regulatory compliance related to data management is preferred
- Familiarity with ethical AI practices and AI/ML data requirements is preferred
