Summary

Join EIT Climate-KIC as a Designer & Producer in Slovenia for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will play a crucial role in the final year of the Deep Demonstration Programme, working with government and stakeholders to design and deliver connected innovations. This involves stakeholder management, systems thinking application, workshop facilitation, and contributing to thought leadership. The role requires expertise in at least one of two value chains (critical raw materials and/or transport & mobility) and strong collaboration skills. You will be part of an international team, working remotely with high flexibility. The position is based in Slovenia, with a focus on Ljubljana.

Requirements

  • Relevant academic degree or qualification, ideally connected with value chains transformation, climate change or innovation-led development. A relevant post graduate degree is highly desirable
  • Proven experience and expertise as a practitioner in climate action and sustainability
  • Proven track record of holding and nurturing relationships with various stakeholders (individuals and institutions), active networking
  • Proven track record and work experience in international and multi-disciplinary environments and contexts, fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, and ensuring successful collaboration and delivery
  • Expertise in at least one of the following: industrial strategies addressing climate change, circular economy, energy transition
  • Expertise in critical raw materials and/or transport & mobility is essential
  • Comfort and confidence working at systems levels, working in areas of complexity and uncertainty with multiple partners and relationships
  • Emphasizing listening to learn, empathy, human-centered design, agility, empowerment, and collaboration
  • Strong ability to build positive and fruitful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Design and facilitation of meetings and workshops
  • Seeing patterns of connection and difference; using diverse perspectives to catalyse breakthrough thinking, reflection and learning; culturally aware and skilled in working with diversity and inclusiveness
  • Proficiency in both Slovenian and English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder management, influence and curation, including coalition building and holding broader relationships with key strategic organisations and individuals
  • Stakeholder engagement – nurturing existing and making new ties with individuals and organizations to build a network of contributors, supporters and local champions of the Deep Demonstration
  • Supporting government authorities in becoming systems thinking practitioners, to design and implement more transformative measures across a range of intervention areas (for example, innovations across governance, capacity building, funding and financing, or climate services)
  • Apply systems thinking and systems innovation to design actions in the spaces/ ecosystems of transport & mobility as well as critical raw materials
  • Workshop design, preparation and facilitation for diverse audience types
  • Contribute towards thought leadership with technical expertise and knowledge on value chains transformations, circularity and decarbonization
  • Curate processes and dialogues to connect to other areas of Climate-KIC’s portfolio of innovation projects and Community
  • Participate in additional attempts to fundraise for programmes to maximise impact and scale given the criticality of the climate challenge

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with different approaches and emerging trends related to strategic and systems thinking, including design for policy and futures literacy will be considered as added value
  • Articulate and dynamic, with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, inspire and motivate people
  • Growth mindset; highly adaptable, flexible and resilient: able to work effectively in ambiguity and complexity and to respond dynamically to change
