Join Twilio as a Software Engineer, Technical Content, and contribute to the technical education of developers visiting Twilio's web properties. You will create high-quality technical content, primarily focusing on Python, for the Twilio Blog and CodeExchange. Requirements
- 3+ years experience in Python development
- 2+ years writing experience, regardless of form (i.e. technical documentation, tutorials, blogs, creative endeavors, etc.)
- Can empathize with the developer that’s learning, including the joy of "It worked!" and the frustration of "Why is my code doing that?"
- Loves to write clean code and uses it to clearly and concisely tell a great narrative to readers
- Has the self-motivation to work proactively rather than responding reactively to inbound tasks and Is comfortable working in a remote environment across timezones
Responsibilities
- Publish one to three pieces of high quality, relevant, and engaging technical content on Twilio’s developer-focused web properties–the Twilio Blog and Twilio CodeExchange–per month by: Writing original, long form, code-based technical tutorials that meet strategic directives
- Enable Python community developers to write their own tutorials
- Code samples for common Twilio products and use cases in Python
- Keep meticulous records of in-progress and published content and contributors in the team’s Airtable base
- Maintain, update, or sunset existing Python-based technical content on the Twilio Blog and Twilio CodeExchange on a weekly cadence
- Serve as the resident expert and content owner for the Python programming language by: Staying up-to-date on all language best practices and standards and ensuring all content in your language area adheres to them
- Researching and learning new technologies, frameworks, and tools within your language area
- Provide language-related guidance to other members of the Developer Network at large
- Write tutorials explaining new language features, advancements, and evolutions
- Communicate with and oversee the work of community developers writing for the Twilio blog in your language area
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Developer Relations role or empowering others in the developer community through meetups, conference talks, mentoring, etc
- Basic experience with or exposure to at least one other programming language
- An interest in creating other types of developer content such as video content
