Summary
Join CALSTART, a mission-driven organization focused on transportation decarbonization, as a paid intern for a 3-month position supporting the Business Development Initiative. Reporting to the Development Support Specialist, you will gain hands-on experience in foundation and government fundraising, CRM management, and workflow optimization. This part-time internship (25 hours/week) involves organizing internal resources, streamlining data collection, and supporting grant development. You will contribute directly to CALSTART's mission of advancing clean transportation. The internship offers a competitive hourly rate of $16-$21.
Requirements
- Completed at least three years of college coursework toward a degree in communications, journalism, sustainability, business development, or a related field
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with experience summarizing findings and creating reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with Excel data analysis skills
- Ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, and work independently in a remote environment
Responsibilities
- Organize, maintain, and improve an internal resource library for the Development team
- Enhance workflow processes by sourcing and compiling key staff data, including resumes and biographies
- Assist with CRM updates and data management to support business development operations
- Conduct research and analysis to support funding opportunities and strategic initiatives
- Perform additional administrative and project-based tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the clean transportation industry and sustainable business practices
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or business development
- Knowledge of CRMs and relationship management tools
- Background in non-profit fundraising and donor engagement
- Advanced Excel skills (Excel Certification preferred)
