Summary

The job is for a Digital PR Specialist role in a growing marketing team. The candidate will ideate, execute, and promote digital PR campaigns to earn high-quality backlinks, brand mentions, and media coverage. They will develop strategies, create engaging content, conduct media outreach, collaborate with internal teams, and track campaign performance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in digital PR, link building, and/or media relations roles
  • Proven track record of ideating and executing creative, data-driven PR campaigns that earn links and coverage
  • Strong news sense and understanding of what makes a story newsworthy and relevant to journalists
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling pitches and press materials
  • Proficiency with PR tools such as Cision, Roxhill, Prowly, Muck Rack for media research and outreach
  • Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals and how PR supports link acquisition efforts
  • Ability to build relationships with journalists and adapt communication style across industries and personalities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and jumping on reactive PR opportunities as stories break

Responsibilities

  • Ideate newsworthy campaign ideas by researching trending topics, analyzing target publications, and identifying unique data and expert commentary opportunities
  • Develop digital PR strategies encompassing reactive PR, data-driven campaigns, and expert commentary/thought leadership
  • Create engaging content such as data reports, infographics, surveys, and press releases that resonate with target audiences and journalists
  • Conduct media outreach to build relationships with journalists, secure press coverage, and earn authoritative backlinks
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as SEO, content, and account management to align PR efforts with overall marketing goals
  • Track, analyze and report on digital PR campaign performance metrics including links earned, reach, share of voice, and referral traffic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization is a plus
  • BA/BS degree in PR, marketing, journalism or related field preferred
