Summary
Join Included Health as the Director of Accounting Operations, a fully remote role, where you will lead process improvement projects and establish best-in-class accounting operations focused on efficiency, accuracy, and cross-functional alignment. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will play a crucial role in the Accounting and Finance team. This position requires experience leading teams, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of accounting operations and the flow of transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5+ years in a management or operations-focused role
- Experience moving projects from brainstorming into defined requirements into execution and communications
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Accounting operations and accounting flow of transactions background
- Experience leading a team
- Assess and implement key control points within processes
- Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location
- Capability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods
- Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment
- No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required
- Capability to work with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner
- Travel, as needed
Responsibilities
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and scalability of accounting operations
- Ensure process improvement projects include assessment and implementation of necessary internal controls
- Oversee accounting operations project portfolio, ensuring all projects are scoped and implemented according to plan
- Assess and select appropriate tools for us that promote automation and streamlining of accounting tasks and reporting
- Identify and lead broad prioritization of accounting and finance organization projects
- Deliver continuous improvement by reviewing process workflows, implementing and implementing process improvements
- Manage projects, ensuring agreement on overall goals and timelines
- Lead any special projects that span multiple teams across Finance, Accounting, and other teams
- Lead accounting operations teams, including accounts payable, procurement, and sales incentive compensation
