Remote Director, Business Intelligence

Summary

EMARKETER is hiring a Director of Business Intelligence to lead the development and enhancement of business intelligence tools. The ideal candidate should be analytical, technical, communicative, self-motivated, collaborative, adaptable, and a growth-minded leader with extensive experience in business intelligence or a related field.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in business intelligence or a related field
• Experience in a leadership role managing BI projects and teams
• Hands-on experience building dashboards using cloud BI tools (e.g., Looker, Metabase, Sigma)
• Strong foundational understanding of business intelligence design principles
• Highly proficient with Snowflake SQL and modeling within DBT Cloud; experience with other programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus
• Basic knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and cloud data warehousing principles

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of BI analysts and engineers in the strategic planning and execution of business intelligence initiatives
• Develop and implement BI strategies that align with eMarketer's goals and objectives
• Oversee the design and development of innovative business intelligence dashboards and reports using Sigma, ensuring they meet the needs of users and deliver actionable insights
• Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure the stability and scalability of our data infrastructure, particularly in the wake of our migration to DBT Cloud
• Establish and maintain rigorous quality control and assurance protocols to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of data presented in BI tools
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to identify business intelligence needs and opportunities. Act as a liaison between the Product and Tech department and other departments to ensure BI tools are aligned with organizational needs
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in business intelligence and analytics. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in our BI processes and tools to maintain relevance and competitive advantage
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance the BI skills of the team and broader organization. Ensure that users can effectively leverage BI tools and insights in their roles

• Base salary: $155,000-$180,000 (dependent on skills & experience)
