Summary

Join Elite Technology as our Director of Cloud Operations and lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of our cloud infrastructure. This remote position requires a proactive, technically skilled leader who can align cloud strategy with business goals. You will lead a high-performing team, implement DevOps and SRE best practices, and ensure continuous improvement in performance, security, and cost optimization. The role involves defining and executing the long-term vision for cloud operations, overseeing cloud infrastructure design and maintenance, leading IaC implementation, driving automation across workflows, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery, establishing and monitoring SLAs, leading incident management, collaborating with security teams, managing vendor relationships, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a key role in supporting the reliability, scalability, and security of our SaaS platform. The position offers a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud operations, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, production-grade SaaS environments
  • Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as SolarWinds or Datadog
  • Familiarity with security and compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including building and mentoring high-performing technical teams
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for cloud operations in alignment with business objectives
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable and secure cloud infrastructure
  • Lead the adoption and implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform
  • Drive automation across provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and incident response workflows
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery across all environments
  • Establish and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs for system performance and uptime
  • Lead incident management processes, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards
  • Manage vendor relationships and cloud spend, focusing on cost optimization
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the company

Preferred Qualifications

Cloud certifications and/or experience with FinOps principles are a plus
