Join Nuvalent, a leading biotechnology company focused on developing precision oncology medicines, as their Director, National Accounts, Strategic Engagement. Reporting to the Senior Director, Health Systems Strategy, you will spearhead the development and execution of field engagement strategies across key oncology networks and organizations. This field-based role demands building and nurturing relationships with influential stakeholders to optimize patient access to Nuvalent's products. You will collaborate extensively with internal teams, including Market Access, Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Legal, to ensure strategic alignment and successful product launches. The position requires strong strategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills, along with a deep understanding of the US oncology landscape. Success in this role will involve negotiating contracts, leading initiatives within GPOs, and representing Nuvalent at key conferences.

Requirements

  • Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross functional team environment

  • Proven leadership, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly effective presentation, communication, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MPH or other advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with a strong, focus on rare disease/oncology (lung cancer experience highly desirable)
  • Proven success in strategic account management, stakeholder engagement, or market access roles
  • Deep knowledge of the US oncology landscape, including community practice dynamics, integrated networks, and professional organizations
  • Strong strategic thinking, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary, up to 70% at peak times, including national meetings and strategic account visits

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute national strategic engagement plans for oncology networks, community practices, and integrated delivery networks (IDNs)
  • Expand and cultivate relationships with influential stakeholders (oncology KOLs, practice leaders, and decision makers) to support brand awareness and value recognition
  • Negotiate and execute contracts and help provide access for clinical and/or economic discussions while implementing focused initiatives within GPOs, networks and strategic accounts
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact with national professional societies (e.g., ASCO, ACCC, NCCN, NCODA, COA, ATOPP) to build collaborative initiatives aligned with corporate and product objectives
  • Represent the company at conferences; develop presence and influence within relevant forums
  • Partner closely with field-based teams, including sales and field medical/HEOR, to align strategies and ensure coordination of customer-focused initiatives
  • Lead planning and execution of Market Access sponsorships and exhibiting at key conferences and customer forums
  • Gather and synthesize market and stakeholder insights to inform internal teams, influence strategic planning, and identify engagement opportunities
  • Partner with trade/distribution, payer and reimbursement teams and patient support services to address access-related barriers
  • Collaborate with government affairs and policy teams to identify advocacy opportunities and shape external policy initiatives
  • Support launch readiness planning for new products by engaging strategic networks and stakeholders early in the commercialization timeline
  • Lead national initiatives that drive uptake and implementation of clinical pathways or treatment guidelines
  • Adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidance in all activities
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and a focus on patient impact

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience launching targeted (precision/personalized medicine) oral oncology therapies
  • Existing relationships with C-Suite, Executive Leadership, and Pharmacy Directors within US oncology practices, networks, and societies
  • Track record of building strategic partnership in oncology, particularly with decision-makers in large community networks
