Summary
Join the Center for Popular Democracy/CPD Action as their Director of Defend the 14th Campaigns! This full-time position requires managing and advancing narrative campaigns around the 14th Amendment, encompassing voting rights, immigration, bodily autonomy, and Supreme Court issues. You will supervise staff, coordinate with partners, and lead fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in relevant campaign work, strong communication and fundraising skills, and a commitment to social justice. The position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. While 15 years of experience is estimated, the focus is on fulfilling the position's needs. Requirements
- A deep understanding of and the ability to talk about the 14th Amendment and the threat it’s facing
- Familiarity with voting rights and immigration campaigns
- Experience with bodily autonomy and abortion access, SCOTUS campaign work and the ability to be a “doer” on those issues
- Deep understanding of and experience running popular education trainings
- The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Experience managing multiple large-scale, complex projects events, particularly direct actions
- Strong writing and fundraising skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and ideas to a variety of audiences
- The ability to travel to for in-person meetings and actions
- Significant supervision experience, with a commitment to coaching and mentoring staff
- A commitment to social, racial, and economic justice and a deep understanding of the challenges facing low-wage workers, immigrant communities, communities of color, disabled people, LGBTQ+ folks, and people at the intersections of the above communities
Responsibilities
- Advance a narrative campaign around the significance of and interconnectedness between the 14th Amendment and several issue areas, including Voting Rights and Democracy, Immigration, Bodily Autonomy, and SCOTUS
- Supervise the Director of Voting Rights and Democracy and the Senior National Organizer, Immigration
- Drive CPD/A’s SCOTUS and protecting bodily autonomy campaigns
- Manage and build cohort spaces around SCOTUS, bodily autonomy and abortion access
- Drive and support cross-campaign and cross-team coordination and alignment around Defending the 14th Amendment narrative, creating opportunities for collaboration
- Coordinate with research staff to develop research agendas, both to support existing campaigns and narrative work and to support our broader national agenda
- Support partners and staff in developing ambitious campaigns, including developing the expertise and leadership of their members on these issues
- Lead fundraising to grow CPD/A’s work on these issues, and to raise resources for our partners driving campaigns in the field
