Join Smartcat's dynamic team as a People Operations Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the company's People strategy. You will modernize HR practices, leverage AI to streamline operations, and serve as a key resource for all HR-related matters. This role requires fluency in English and proficiency in Russian, and is based on the East Coast of the USA, preferably in Boston. You will spearhead initiatives like the Fall Talent Review, optimize the benefits program, and execute the compensation philosophy. Requirements

  • Fluency in English at a C2 level or higher is essential
  • Must be located on the East Coast in the USA
  • You have a track record of success building a scalable, data-driven people operations function that encompasses benefits, employee relations, performance management, talent development, onboarding, off-boarding, and learning and development
  • You are eager to share your experience and insights making data-driven decisions to inform people operations processes and policies and using data to tell stories
  • You understand how to balance the strategic big picture with the tactical execution and can easily switch between the two at any moment

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the successful launch of our Fall Talent Review in September, empowering managers and employees through targeted training and skill development initiatives
  • Pioneer AI-Powered People Operations. Be at the forefront of identifying and implementing innovative AI solutions to dramatically boost our team's productivity, freeing up valuable time from manual tasks and significantly enhancing the employee experience
  • Take full ownership of our comprehensive benefits program, including leading US Open Enrollment in August, optimizing plan design, nurturing our relationship with our benefit broker, expertly managing leave of absence, ensuring compliance, and streamlining processes for maximum employee satisfaction
  • Execute our compensation philosophy by owning the variable compensation calculations and payouts process while developing a robust and scalable compensation framework grounded in industry best practices, ensuring we attract and retain top talent
  • Creating impactful engagement and learning programs that deeply reinforce our unique culture and foster continuous innovation across Smartcat
  • Become a Power User of Our People Ecosystem: Dive headfirst into our suite of cutting-edge HR tools, including Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs), HiBob, Gusto, Metaview, Notion, Miro, Slack, Pave.com, and Remote.com
  • Master the Global Landscape of People Operations: Immerse yourself in our diverse global People Operations processes, from seamlessly onboarding and offboarding team members to expertly navigating performance management, talent reviews, and benefits administration
  • Shape the Future, Present Your Strategic Vision: Within your first 90 days, you'll synthesize your initial learnings into a compelling 60-90-120 day roadmap, presenting your strategic insights and proposed initiatives directly to the VP of People and the People Operations Leadership team
  • Forge Meaningful Connections: Immediately begin building strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Elevate Our Talent, Lead the Fall Talent Review: Take ownership of our Fall Talent Review, implementing updates and improvements based on valuable feedback from the Spring Talent Review cycle
  • Formalize Core People Operations Processes: You'll be instrumental in prioritizing and formalizing essential People Operations processes, including onboarding, off-boarding, benefits administration, variable compensation calculations and payouts, and leave of absence requests
  • Prepare for US Open Enrollment: You'll be at the forefront of preparing for our annual Open Enrollment in the USA, ensuring a smooth and informative process for our US-based employees
  • Lead Global Compensation Strategy: Initiate the critical compensation benchmarking process for all roles across Smartcat's global footprint using Pave.com
  • Cultivate Our Culture, Deliver Impactful Company-Wide Training: You will design, deliver, and measure training programs that deeply reinforce Smartcat's unique culture and clearly define expectations for both individual contributors and managers
  • Connect Our World, Architect a Plan for Global Connection: Introduce an innovative plan to foster a strong sense of company connection and culture among our globally dispersed team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Russian at a B2 level or higher will be a significant advantage
  • Highly preferred if you are based in Boston, MA so that you may go into our office at least once a week
