Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a good law school
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience practicing law, with 4+ years in a Legal role with B2B SaaS organization
  • Proven track record of successfully managing legal matters and providing strategic legal advice in a corporate environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions under pressure
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
  • To Excel at leadership while also getting hands-on
  • The ability to handle significant and complex legal matters with short turnaround times

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the organization's legal strategy aligned with its overall goals and objectives
  • Identify legal risks and opportunities and devise strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities
  • Provide legal guidance to senior management on key legal issues affecting the business
  • Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts and agreements, ensuring they are legally sound and aligned with the organization's interests
  • Establish standardized contract templates and processes to streamline contract management procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards across all aspects of the organization's operations
  • Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements and adapt policies and procedures accordingly
  • Manage and oversee all litigation matters involving the organization, including disputes, claims, and lawsuits
  • Collaborate with external counsel to develop litigation strategies and represent the organization's interests in legal proceedings
  • Evaluate settlement options and make recommendations to senior management regarding litigation resolution
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and best practices
  • Support the senior management in fulfilling their fiduciary duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain corporate records and ensure compliance with corporate formalities
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
  • Provide legal advice and support in crisis management situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Should have startup experience
  • Should have worked in a US based organization
