Summary
Join Greenhouse as the Director of People Systems and Operations, reporting to the VP of Total Rewards. Lead and strategically manage the People Operations and People Systems teams, driving operational excellence, data integrity, compliance, and technology enablement across the People Team. Develop and implement HR systems, automate processes, manage budgets and vendors, and lead the HRIS team. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure policy alignment and compliance. Oversee the employee lifecycle, build robust analytics dashboards, and partner with stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Ensure compliance with employment law and data privacy regulations. Develop and empower the People Operations & Systems team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Contribute to strategic People Team and company-wide transformation projects. This role requires a strategic mindset, systems thinking, data-driven decision-making, and strong collaboration skills.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive Human Resources or People Operations experience, including at least 3 years leading People Operations or HRIS/Systems teams at the manager or director level
- Demonstrated success administering and optimizing HRIS platforms including implementations, integrations, and automation
- Strong project management and change leadership skills in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Knowledge of payroll integrations and cross-border employee data/reporting requirements
- Experience designing and optimizing HR processes for scale, efficiency, and employee engagement, with a proven track record of driving measurable improvement
- Knowledge of workforce data privacy requirements (global experience a plus)
- Prior experience building and managing a high-performing, diverse team
- An analytical, data-driven mindset with proficiency in HR reporting and dashboard tools
- Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Responsibilities
- Own strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR systems
- Drive automation, data accuracy, integrations, stakeholder adoption, budget and vendor management across the organization
- Set vision for our HR systems roadmap, and ongoing administration of our HR technology ecosystem, including process automation, configuration, data integrity, integrations, user experience, and vendor management
- Lead the People Operations and People Systems (HRIS) teams to deliver compliant, reliable, and seamless people processes across regions, including onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, and leaves/benefits administration
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure policy development, employee lifecycle events, and compliance practices are current, scalable, and aligned to business goals
- Serve as the escalation point for complex policy questions, compliance issues, audits, and high-priority employee matters
- Influence and enforce data governance protocols related to people data, partnering with People Analytics to ensure data quality and dashboard accuracy
- Own and drive operational efficiency by standardizing processes, eliminating manual work, and embedding self-service and employee-centric solutions
- Oversee the employee lifecycle (from onboarding to offboarding), optimizing processes for efficiency, scalability, and compliance across our global operation
- Build and maintain robust people analytics and reporting dashboards; leverage data to drive actionable insights and inform People Team and business decision-making
- Partner with all stakeholders (IT, Finance, Legal, Total Rewards, HRBPs etc.) to align people operations and systems work with organizational goals and compliance standards
- Ensure full compliance with employment law, data privacy, and global statutory requirements; lead regular audits and risk management efforts
- Develop and empower the People Operations & Systems team, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Lead or contribute to strategic People Team and company-wide transformation projects
