You will closely partner with the leader of External Reporting on quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reporting assignments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in an accounting role with 2-5 years of people management experience
- CPA or CA designation
- Excellent communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of teaching and motivating others
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the annual Technical Accounting strategy aligned with overall company objectives
- Shape the team(s) structure by recommending and implementing improvements supporting the strategy
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical accounting
- Perform technical research and document accounting conclusions for complex transactions
- Proactively identify, research, consult, and draft technical memos on significant and complex proposed and/or completed transactions and issues
- Build cross-functional relationships with other Directors and VPs, key external partners, and others to achieve shared objectives
- Drive the development, implementation, and updating of new and existing accounting policies and procedures (e.g updates for FASB pronouncements, write related accounting positions, etc.)
- Serve as the subject matter expert in areas of revenue accounting, business combinations, stock based compensation, internal-use software, and others, helping members across the finance organization and across the business to understand financial implications of complex transactions
- Work with External Reporting as additional preparer or reviewer of content prepared for use by investors
- Identify and mitigate potential audit risks, working closely with the audit committee and management to address any issues
- Review accounting workpapers prepared by Revenue Accounting or Corporate Accounting team members, with focus on technically complex areas
- Take on ad hoc special projects, as assigned by the CAO
- Respond to ad hoc technical questions related to complex transactions and asked by CFO, COO, or other members of the executive team or the Board
