Summary

Join Spreetail as the Director of Trade Compliance and lead the development and execution of a global trade compliance strategy. Build and scale enterprise-wide compliance programs, partnering with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into all supply chain stages. Serve as the primary liaison to U.S. CBP and global customs authorities, leading trade compliance audits. Success requires demonstrated experience in import/export compliance, a strong background in tariffs and international trade, and an active Customs Broker License with 5+ years of experience. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in import & export compliance, with a strong background in tariffs, regulatory compliance, and international trade
  • Proven success in building and scaling internal trade and compliance processes
  • Must hold an active Customs Broker License with 5+ years of experience in international trade and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a global trade compliance strategy that aligns with business goals and mitigates regulatory risk across the supply chain
  • Build and scale enterprise-wide compliance programs including HTS classification, country-of-origin determination, denied party screening, and licensing
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Legal, Product, and Engineering to integrate compliance into product design, vendor onboarding, and international expansion
  • Drive cost savings through FTA optimization, FTZ utilization, and duty mitigation, while ensuring audit readiness and regulatory alignment (e.g., EAR, ITAR, USMCA)
  • Serve as the primary liaison to U.S. CBP and global customs authorities, lead trade compliance audits, and leverage tools like Descartes and SAP GTS to guide executive decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Asia imports; preferred experience with Canada and Mexico
  • Experience in building and deploying First Receipt Programs
