Join Orca Bio, a late-stage biotechnology company, as the Director, U.S. Value, Access, & Pricing Strategy. Lead the market access strategy for Orca-T, a next-generation cell therapy, focusing on payer coverage and provider reimbursement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, HEOR, medical, finance, and legal, to develop and execute value marketing initiatives. This remote hybrid role requires developing access and reimbursement strategies, creating value proposition and evidence packages, conducting market research, and contributing to policy advocacy. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in oncology market access and pricing within the US healthcare system. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of blood cancer patients.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree and 10+ years of experience OR
- Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of experience
- Extensive understanding of the transplant clinical landscape and the business of cell therapy
- Excellent strategic thinker, with the ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy based on applied analytical skills
- Proven track record in developing market access strategy/materials & marketing initiatives for oncology products by leveraging market research, data, and analytics in highly complex and competitive markets
- Market Access & Pricing financial experience within US Healthcare System to include buy and bill, inpatient and outpatient hospital economics, governmental reimbursement, and payer/provider economics
- Advanced pricing analytics experience ideal, including knowledge of government pricing mechanics for buy and bill products
- Experience developing value proposition while aligning and contributing to HEOR evidence generation plans to define and deliver value stories to economic decision makers
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional partners to develop innovative solutions where precedent may not exist
- Demonstrates confidence and ability to effectively influence senior business leaders
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and interpret business issues/opportunities and make sound business judgments regarding solutions
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Lead the Orca-T U.S. Market Access Strategy while collaborating with the field market access directors to execute the reimbursement and access strategy
- Develop the strategic plan in close coordination with Field Market Access Lead for implementing Orca-T market access strategy through payer and ATC focused tactics within the US market to optimize coverage and reimbursement
- Develop innovative payer and provider value creation tools & approaches
- Accountable for delivering robust value proposition and evidence package to meet US payer & ATC needs and co-train field market access directors on the associated marketing materials through close partnership with all stakeholders
- Working with Medical and HEOR, continuously define evolving Orca-T value in US market, including evaluation of clinical, humanistic and economic benefits relative to standards of care and emerging competitors
- Partner with HEOR in development and execution of plans to identify evidence generation needs through additional studies, publications, messaging and scientific communication
- Contribute to US pricing & contracting life-cycle strategies, evaluation of innovative value-based pricing approaches, and pricing analytics
- Collaborates with cross-functional team to conduct in-depth analyses that drive identification of rich market insights across payers and ATC’s to optimize patient journey and launch
- Conduct primary research to understand payer and ATC needs in the US cell therapy market
- Collect key insights regarding customer experience and access needs
- Contribute to policy/government affairs advocacy strategies to optimize cell therapy access & reimbursement for patients, payers, and providers
- Partner to ensure all activities are following regulatory and legal requirements
- Travel ≤ 20%
Preferred Qualifications
Engagement experience with payer, provider, channel and health policy experience desirable
