Summary

The Whitney Museum offers a semester-long hybrid internship for undergraduate and graduate students in the Education: School and Educator Programs department. Interns are expected to help prepare for programs, assist with K-12 school groups, conduct research, and assist with professional development workshops. Qualifications include being a college junior or senior or graduate student with an interest in arts education, arts administration, or art history, being organized and outgoing, and having completed at least one year of academic coursework.

Requirements

• Completed at least one year’s worth of academic coursework

Responsibilities

• Help prepare for programs by collecting and organizing art supplies
• Work with the Museum’s Freelance Educators to assist with K-12 school groups visiting the museum for guided tours and virtual programs
• Assist School Programs staff in small-scale research projects, including data collection & analysis
• Conduct research for new exhibitions and create resource packets for Freelance Educators
• Assist Educator Programs staff with professional development workshops and other School Program events
• Assist in managing the School Programs calendar, website and mailing list
