Education - Spanish Initiatives Internship in United States

Summary

The Whitney Museum offers a semester-long paid internship for undergraduate and graduate students in various departments. For Fall 2024, interns commit between 16–21 hours per week over 10–12 weeks. The Education: Spanish Initiatives intern will work closely with the Education Associate Manager and contribute to projects promoting learning and engagement within the Museum. Interns are required to work one Sunday per month and sometimes during evening programs.

Requirements

• Undergraduates and graduates currently enrolled in accredited academic year programs are eligible
• Applicants must have completed a minimum of one year’s worth of academic coursework; undergraduate freshmen are not eligible

Responsibilities

• Translate, edit, and proofread texts in advance of exhibition openings
• Collaborate with the Education Department to assist in educational programs
• Conduct research projects, providing valuable insights and contributing to the development of educational resources
• Propose and implement efficient workflows to handle administrative projects
• Keep meticulous records of budgets, receipts, process payments, and review calendars to schedule important meetings
• Contribute to the planning and coordination of departmental meals during special events
• Provide assistance to the Associate Manager in administrative and general duties, including expense tracking and receipt scanning
• Develop and maintain detailed spreadsheets in Excel to support various educational initiatives
• Assist with seasonal activities such as mailing, holiday cards, and other administrative tasks
