Join MATRIX, a national company offering camp, logistics, and aviation services, as an Electrician at our remote Canadian project locations. This role requires a Certified Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal) with at least three years of experience in a construction field electrician in a camp environment. Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical components; testing circuits; ensuring proper maintenance and repairs; ordering parts; and adhering to safety regulations. You will work a 3-weeks-in, 3-weeks-out rotation schedule and must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing physical labor. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential. MATRIX offers a competitive salary ($450-$500/day), travel allowance, and the chance to work in a picturesque remote environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (3) year working in a construction field electrician in a camp environment
- Certified Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal) required
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work a rotation schedule
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor
- Ability to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 - 12 hour shift
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components
- Testing circuits and connections using electrical test equipment
- Inspecting equipment and ensuring proper maintenance and repairs are completed, while adhering to timelines and budget restrictions
- Responsible for ordering electrical parts
- Preparation and site clean-up, including rubbish removal
- Proficient with building code regulations as it relates to worksite building electrical assembly and repairs
- Assist in the completion of all necessary documentation as per process / protocol to ensure cost effectiveness and budget allocation
- Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectations
- Understand the basics of reading and interpreting blueprints
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and support monthly work-site inspections
- Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures
- Notify Manager of unsafe practices and unsafe environment
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately
- Actively participate as a high performing, team member
