Summary

Join Pathward, a hybrid, remote-office financial empowerment company, as a Benefits and Wellness Specialist! You will be responsible for implementing and administering cost-effective and compliant benefits and wellness plans. Key duties include designing and implementing benefit plans, counseling employees on leave options, working with vendors, consulting with HR and leaders, administering benefit programs (health, welfare, retirement, voluntary), communicating benefit information, providing training, ensuring regulatory compliance (ERISA, ACA, IRS, DOL, 401k, COBRA), participating in benefits surveys, reviewing workplace policies, analyzing employee education needs, collaborating with internal/external partners, managing open enrollment, supporting M&A activity, and reconciling benefits data. This role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent, 5+ years of experience, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Responsibilities

  • Supports the designs and implementation of benefits and wellness plans, programs and policies; evaluate cost competitiveness and effectiveness of plans
  • Effectively interprets FMLA, state-sponsored leave, and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences and disability benefits
  • Counsels employees on leave options and supports leave-related activities (e.g. placing on/returning employee from leave)
  • Works with vendors to ensure service issues are resolved, as needed
  • Consults and partners with leaders and HR to achieve organizational objectives while providing competitive benefits for employees
  • Administers benefit plans and programs that include health and welfare (including wellness), retirement, and voluntary benefits
  • Communicates benefit plans, programs and policies
  • Provides guidance, advice and training to HR, management and employees on benefits and wellness plan administration and operations
  • Has a deep understanding of ERISA, ACA, IRS, DOL, 401(k), and COBRA, rules to ensure compliance with applicable government laws, regulations and annual compliance filing requirements
  • Participates in and reviews benefits surveys and benchmarking tools to determine organization's competitive position
  • Reviews workplace policies related to leave and family benefits for alignment with employee well-being strategies. Makes recommendations for change
  • Analyzes and supports needed employee education and outreach needs related to benefits awareness and health consumerism skills
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to support benefits and wellness activities as well as to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Assists with management of the annual Benefits Open Enrollment processes and renewals, including communications and presentations to employees
  • Supports Merger and Acquisition activity with benefits integration
  • Reconciles benefits data, partnering with payroll and accounting to ensure accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM/CEBS/CBP certification
  • Prior experience with UKG Pro
