Summary
Join a team that's pushing the needle on climate action! As an Engineering Manager at Plan A, you'll lead our Onboarding Squad and provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to develop our carbon emissions accounting product. With a strong technical background and experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering technical projects, you'll be responsible for prioritizing team work, managing project delivery, and establishing a reporting line with team members.
Requirements
- Pragmatic and user-centric mindset
- Strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering technical projects
- Experience in driving technical and operational excellence within teams
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Strong technical background, with hands-on experience in software development (eg. React, Typescript, Laravel, Python, PHP)
- Knowledge and experience of agile development best practices, including Scrum, Kanban, sprint reviews, defining and writing user stories
Responsibilities
- Take accountability for planning and prioritising the technical work in the squad, ensuring the team is clear on what should be built and how
- Manage and coordinate delivery of projects and features in the squad according to timelines committed to by the squad
- Provide a point of contact for stakeholders to address issues, and communicate information about team progress and timelines
- Establish a reporting line with the individuals in the team, and support individuals in day-to-day work and professional development
- Identify capacity gaps in the team, and manage the hiring process to fill potential gaps
