Remote Engineering Manager

Summary

Join Reddit as an Engineering Manager for the Top of Funnel team to lead a full-stack team responsible for building UIs, APIs, and foundation backend systems. The role requires technical expertise, leadership, and a strong drive to understand customer needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend or full stack product development
• 2+ years experience in people management of high-performing engineering teams
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Own the execution of your team's roadmap and be accountable for consistent, predictable delivery
• Ruthlessly prioritize both planned projects and emergent asks
• Work closely with Tech Leads on project management and empower your team to execute autonomously
• Identify risks and proactively communicate them both internally and externally
• Recruit engineers into Reddit by identifying needs, writing job descriptions, sourcing, interviewing, and helping close candidates
• Help your engineers identify career goals and create development plans to achieve them
• Work with your team to develop processes and tooling that constantly improve the quality of our products and systems
• Serve as a thought partner to product and upper management to ensure your team's plans align with company goals
