As Engineering Manager, you will set strategy, guide the team to consistent results, develop engineers, and foster a healthy, results-driven culture. You will coach and mentor your team, set technical direction, understand developer needs, and champion best practices for AI quality and operations. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing technical teams of 6 or more engineers
  • Direct experience managing ML and applied engineering teams
  • Proven track record as an engineer, you know how to build AI/ML Platforms with strong fundamentals
  • Deep knowledge of data flywheels, evals, and quality hill-climbing
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in hiring, mentoring, and growing senior engineers
  • Excellent communication skills to build consensus with stakeholders, building and iterating in the platform to meet users where they are
  • Pragmatism and scrappiness, knowing when to build vs buy, what customers really need, and how to create iterative plans

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor and create an environment where your team can do their best work and deliver for the business
  • Set direction and guide technical strategy, ensuring that your team is delivering long-term value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deeply understand developer needs, identifying and implementing solutions that support advancing AI at Vanta
  • Champion best practices for AI quality and AI operations
