Engineering Manager

Summary

Join Vercel's AI SDK team as an Engineering Manager and play a pivotal role in enhancing AI-driven developer experience tooling. You will develop and enhance AI-powered developer tools, overseeing architecture and implementation of scalable solutions. Collaborate with AI researchers, engineers, and product teams to push the boundaries of AI in developer experience, ensuring exceptional user experience. Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI and developer tooling, and diagnose and resolve complex issues. Your contributions will directly shape how developers interact with and benefit from AI-driven solutions. This role requires strong full-stack development experience with a focus on AI-powered tooling and 3+ years of Engineering Management experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on AI-powered or developer-focused tooling. Experience with the Vercel AI SDK preferred
• 3+ years of Engineering Management experience
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience building modern web applications
• Experience working with AI models and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, fine-tuned models, or LLM-based applications)
• Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and serverless platforms, particularly within the Vercel ecosystem
• A strong passion for developer experience and a deep understanding of how AI can enhance productivity
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance AI-powered developer tools, improving code generation, automation, and seamless integration with Vercel
• Oversee the architecture and implementation of performant, scalable, and reliable solutions that support AI-driven interactions in web development
• Collaborate cross-functionally with AI researchers, frontend/backend engineers, and product teams to push the boundaries of AI in developer experience
• Ensure an exceptional user experience through thoughtful UI/UX design
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI and developer tooling, incorporating the latest advancements to enhance the v0 platform
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues, ensuring the reliability and performance of AI-powered experiences at scale
