Requirements
- You have a software engineering background
- You are great at organising and prioritising work
- You are able to accurate translate technical jargon and break down complex concepts into something understandable
- You are an excellent communicator
- You speak English fluently
- You have an entrepreneurship mentality
- You are a self-starter and self-motivated
- You have previously managed engineers and projects
Responsibilities
- Delivery of your teams' projects
- Alignment of your teams' decisions with company and teams' OKRs
- Ownership of technical solutions within your team
- Representing your teams' needs and interests to stakeholders and other company leaders
- Leadership of your teams' engineering efforts
- Growth of your teammates through delegation, feedback and regular 1:1's
- Active role in the Engineering Management team shaping the entire YouGov Engineering Organisation
- Empower your team members, and make sure that they have a feeling of ownership and progression
- Shape your team's structure, and be a hiring manager for your team
- Implement technical solutions and processes that foster a healthy and efficient engineering organisation
- Work closely with product manager to ensure timely delivery
- Actively looking for opportunities to automate tasks to increase team efficiency
