Engineering Manager, Frontend Infrastructure

Summary

Join Stripe's Frontend Infrastructure Engineering team as an Engineering Manager and lead a team in making impactful technical decisions. Empower engineers to achieve high productivity, reliability, and simplicity. Work with geographically distributed engineers and leaders to establish developer productivity best practices. Recruit and develop engineers, contributing to engineering-wide initiatives. Minimum requirements include 4+ years of engineering management experience and 6+ years of product or developer productivity experience. A passion for supporting developer productivity and high autonomy are also essential.

Requirements

• 4+ years of engineering management experience
• 6+ years product or developer productivity experience as an engineer or manager
• A passion for supporting developer productivity
• Comfortable with a high degree autonomy to figure out what your internal customers need and accountability to justify your prioritization decisions

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and guide the team in making good technical and prioritization decisions
• Empower the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity
• Be empathetic to immediate internal customer needs but visionary enough to not just deliver a faster horse
• Work with geographically distributed engineers as well as with other Stripe leaders to design and lead developer productivity best practices
• Recruit great engineers in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team
• Help engineers advance in their careers and develop new skills
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team
