Summary

Join Cardata as an Engineering Manager, Infrastructure and lead and grow our infrastructure team, shaping the backbone of our technology. You will conduct a comprehensive audit of our infrastructure, budget, security, and deployment pipelines, collaborate with the Director of Engineering to build a short- and long-term roadmap, and begin growing your team. You’ll also create processes to ensure security, knowledge redundancy, documentation, and best practices. This role requires a balance of hands-on technical work and strategic leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. You will mentor and lead a high-performing team, contribute to technical work, and manage budgets and vendor relationships. You will also design and implement scalable cloud architectures and enhance CI/CD processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related fields
  • 2+ years of experience in a managerial or leadership role
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code technologies (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Strong skills with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Experience with logging and monitoring platforms (e.g., Datadog)
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Security principles
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and systems architecture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and lead a high-performing, inclusive team
  • Conduct performance reviews and support career planning for team members
  • Set clear goals and align team efforts with organizational objectives
  • Build trust and foster collaboration across technical and non-technical teams
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence to resolve challenges and build strong relationships
  • Contribute directly to your team’s technical work when needed
  • Join the on-call rotation after onboarding to support the team
  • Ensure projects progress efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Audit current infrastructure and create a strategic plan for improvements
  • Design and implement scalable, cost-efficient cloud architectures
  • Document and review key decisions through RFPs (Request for Proposals)
  • Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to optimize costs effectively
  • Partner with security teams to uphold and evolve security standards
  • Oversee quarterly penetration tests and disaster recovery exercises
  • Co-lead efforts to maintain SOC 2 - Type 2 compliance
  • Enhance and evolve CI/CD processes to enable fast, reliable, and frequent deployments
