Join National Power, LLC as a Generator Service Technician and assist experienced technicians in maintaining and repairing generator sets and electrical equipment. You will receive comprehensive training in power generation. This role involves hands-on experience with various maintenance tasks, engine repairs, and load bank testing. Requirements
- Have a HS Diploma
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have an excellent driving record and a valid driver’s license
- Have good computer skills and be comfortable with Microsoft software to include Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, and Adobe (PDF’s)
- Pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Pass a Department of Transportation physical examination
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with basic maintenance on generators of various sizes. Learn about Automatic Transfer Switches and their components
- Help with routine preventative maintenance tasks such as changing oil and filters
- Observe troubleshooting processes for AC and DC circuits while learning to identify basic components under supervision
- Support Lead technicians during engine repair work. Learn to identify basic engine components including ignition systems and fuel systems
- Observe proper valve adjustment techniques and other routine maintenance procedures
- Participate in load bank testing under direct supervision to learn proper testing procedures and how to verify generators meet operating standards
- Work alongside experienced technicians on larger projects to gain hands-on experience while providing basic assistance as directed
- Account for time spent on jobs and travel
- Ensure proper vehicle maintenance is performed
- Maintain required parts inventory
- Ensure security of Company property to include cell phone, laptop computer, specialty tools and any other item assigned
- Work with a supervisor to handle challenging customer interactions
- Help respond to customer needs in a timely manner
- Collect customer feedback when asked
- Assist with service requests
- Follow through on basic commitments
- Help identify solutions during urgent situations or when working with limited resources, under the guidance of experienced team members
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
- Look for ways to improve and promote quality
- Apply feedback to improve performance
- Monitor own work to ensure quality and safety
- Give verbal/written reports of job status, repair recommendations, equipment/supplies needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Have an Associate degree in an Electrical/Mechanical related field
- Be a US Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, US Navy Electrician’s Mate, or Generator and/or UPS field service technician

- Competitive pay depending on previous experience and current certifications. Overtime is also a factor and is paid at 1.5 X base. We are a performance-based company and pay will ultimately reflect the employee’s productivity and overall performance
