Flooring Estimator

Join a leading commercial flooring services provider in Connecticut as a remote Estimator. This role supports the team by handling estimating and project planning tasks. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, proficiency in reading plans, and experience with Measure Square 8 estimating software. Responsibilities include analyzing project plans, utilizing Measure Square 8 for takeoffs and bid construction, conducting thorough plan and spec reading, and collaborating with team members. The position offers a monthly salary between $1000 and $1300. Payment is handled directly by the client, and vacation leaves and holidays are determined by the client's policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or flooring industry
• Proficiency in Measure Square 8 or similar estimating software
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Download and analyze project plans and specifications
• Utilize Measure Square 8 software to digitize takeoffs, build rooms, and add doors, dividers, and material legends
• Construct bidders using the software and ensure all details are accurately captured
• Conduct thorough plan reading and spec reading to identify scopes of work
• Perform forensic and investigative analysis to ensure all aspects of the project are understood
• Communicate effectively to ask the right questions and clarify project details
• Collaborate with the senior estimator and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of estimates
• Maintain organized and detailed records of all project-related documents and communications
